Red Nose Day 13th March 2009

Friday, 27th March, 2009

We had our best Red Nose Day ever on 13th March with the Pupil RND Committee organising some fantastic events. Here is a list of the activities which took place:

School started with a special assembly to introduce RND 09
    • teachers dressed up as sports stars
    • there was an auction of 20 Year 11 pupils as slaves to teachers for the day, which raised a lot of laughs and over £150
    • pupils had a non-uniform day with the theme of “raving clothes”, which included anything bright, bold and wacky. This was followed by a fashion show at lunchtime. Two pupils from each of the 15 forms entered the fashion show which took place at lunch time with prizes for the winners
    • there were many fundraising stalls during the day, such as “sweets in a jar”
    • Year 11 pupils held a sponsored race around the field with buckets of water thrown over them
    • Raffle

Pupils also sold three types of Red Noses throughout the day. We are still counting the money and will release the grand total very soon!

Several other events were held during the day, including a cake stall at break time which raised a total of £125.00. Many thanks to all those who helped and made fantastic cakes.

Also one of our pupils raised £26 by dressing up as a rather large pink rabbit, collecting change during breaks and lunch time.
