News From The Dt Department

Tuesday, 20th October, 2009

The DT Department are very busy at the moment planning and implementing new projects at KS3 and KS4 for pupils to enjoy as well as extend their learning experiences.

Photoshop elements has been installed in the Graphics suite. Y10/Y11 pupils are really getting to grips with different effects, great work is being produced. We have also invited Matthew Davey (ex-pupil) to give a talk to Y10/Y11 Graphic pupils about his degree course in Graphic Communication and future career possibilities.

As GCSE pupils become more and more involved in their major piece of DT coursework, the Graphics room and workshop will be available on Tuesday and Thursday lunchtime and during Aim Higher Thursday after school. We encourage pupils to come along and make the most of these facilities. Do contact us if you have any concerns about your child’s progress with their coursework. Mrs Turner will begin a lunchtime cookery club in the run up to Christmas, more details to follow.

For our next Flexi Day in November, Year 7 will be very busy in DT making products to sell at our Christmas concert. Please come and support us and buy a gift or two, we look forward to seeing you there.
