Year 7 Transition

Wednesday, 3rd February, 2010

At Stradbroke Business & Enterprise College we work hard to ensure that new pupils are supported and cared for during the transition from Primary School to us!

We have excellent relationships with our Primary Schools and a wide range of transition activities to help pupils feel confident and happy as they make that large step from Primary School to High School.

Comments from Year 7 parents on how their children have settled into SBEC

• “I think the Intake Day and Evening were very useful for myself and my child and we were both made to feel very welcome”

• “My child is very happy at school and has had fantastic support from Year 10 and Year 11 pupils”

• “Our child has settled in beautifully. The transition was easy and smooth. We feel both lucky and privileged that our daughter has the opportunity to study at SBEC”

• “Year 11 should be congratulated for looking after the younger ones, even at the bus stop on the first ‘nervous’ day. You should be proud of their conduct”

• “We cannot find fault with the way in which our child has been eased into SBEC. We feel the sports element is a fantastic integration with Primary Schools. The evening visits have been full of fun and enthusiasm, always a lovely atmosphere, warming and friendly”

• “The enthusiasm shown by staff has rubbed off on my daughter. She was not overwhelmed and feels at home and part of the school already”

• “Well done to all involved in the transition process”

• “Our son has settled in well beyond our expectations on every level and is very happy. Thank you all very much”
