Flexi Day Activities

On our last Flexi Day, Year 7 had fun making Christmas products to sell at the Christmas Concert evening.
In Food, pupils learned new skills and techniques including using marzipan and ready roll icing to decorate some beautiful festive Christmas cakes.
The packaging for these were made in Graphics, where pupils learned about using nets in order to create cardboard boxes which they then decorated with metallic foils to give a Christmas feel.
In Resistant Materials, pupils learned painting techniques, how to use coping saws to make some trendy ‘shabby chic’ style wooden tree decorations.
It was a tiring day for staff and pupils alike but everyone enjoyed themselves and it was nice to see our efforts praised at the concert, where we raised over £80. Many thanks to all who purchased our wares!
