Design Technology

All pupils study Design Technology in Year 7, 8 and 9. The subject is divided into three areas. Food, Resistant Materials and Graphics/Systems and Control.

In Design Technology pupils combine practical and technological skills with creative thinking to design and make products and systems that meet human needs. Problem solving and working in teams are important aspects of the courses.

In Year 10 and Year 11 pupils can continue to study Design Technology by taking GCSE Food, Resistant Materials and Graphics.

All three subjects are taught in newly appointed well equipped specialist rooms with state of the art equipment including, Plotter Cutters, Milling Machines and new computers.

Pupils enjoy competitions, clubs, annual trips to Design Centre and even Cadbury World as part of the Design Technology curriculum!
