Physical Education

The PE curriculum is concerned with the principles behind good health and physical fitness, and with participating in a range of physical activities designed to satisfy the needs, abilities and interests of individual pupils. The range of activities is wide, including Athletics, Games, Dance, Trampolining, OAA and Fitness. As well as more innovative sports such as Tchoukball, Golf Extreme and Ultimate Frisbee

Within the broad philosophy that taking part is more important than winning, individual talents and aptitudes are encouraged, together with those social and personal qualities inherent in both team and individual activities. These include the acceptance of responsibility, loyalty, cooperation, determination, tolerance and the enjoyment of success as well as simply taking part. Dispositions that support learning, like concentration, perseverance, consistency and confidence are also recognised and developed.

Extra Curricular participation and opportunities are also hugely important. Various trips are arranged every year to events such as Cricket Twenty20, Netball International, Varsity Rugby Watch and Wimbledon. We enjoy a high level of success in a range of sports - our recent successes are Year 7 district netball winners, Year 9 boys cricket district winners, Y10 regional Ultimate frisbee champions and U16 basketball district winners.
